About Us

With a legacy of over 25 years in the Department of Commerce, Team Convention stands as one of the oldest committees of MBA (HRD/IB), embodying the principle of ‘learning by doing.’ It organizes the Annual Business Convention on a grand scale and is set to expand its impact with the inaugural TEDxDepartmentOfCommerce, featuring inspiring speakers from diverse fields. The committee also hosts the formal "Valedictory" farewell, bidding farewell to graduating seniors on behalf of the department, faculty, and junior batch. Committed to fostering revolutionary ideas and facilitating connections between students, professionals, and scholars, Team Convention plays a key role in branding the department while enhancing student learning. Its responsibilities include event planning, corporate networking, topic curation, and marketing initiatives that not only promote the events but also elevate the department’s presence in the corporate world

Erudition, the Annual Business Convention of the MBA course at the Department of Commerce, is a premier platform that brings together educationists, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, financial experts, and students to exchange valuable insights on global business dynamics. Understanding that a nation’s progress and competitiveness are deeply rooted in its educational foundation, the convention strives to bridge the gap between academia and industry by exposing students to the experiences and expertise of thought leaders. Living up to its name, which symbolizes the pursuit of knowledge, Erudition fosters a culture of intellectual engagement and collaborative learning.

Held over two days, the event is built around a distinct theme each year, ensuring relevance to contemporary business challenges. Each day features insightful panel discussions led by esteemed speakers who delve into critical subtopics, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of industry trends and practices.

TEDx

TED is a non-profit organization dedicated to spreading ideas through short, impactful talks of 18 minutes or less. Originally founded in 1984 as a conference focused on Technology, Entertainment, and Design, TED has since expanded to encompass a vast range of topics, from science and business to global issues, available in over 100 languages. In parallel, TEDx events—independently organized under TED’s free license—bring the essence of TED to local communities, fostering conversations that inspire change and innovation.

TEDx

TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.” TEDx brings the spirit of TED to local communities around the globe through TEDx events. These events are organized by passionate individuals who seek to uncover new ideas and to share the latest research in their local areas that spark conversations in their communities. TEDx events include live speakers and recorded TED Talks, and are organized independently under a free license granted by TED.

TEDx Department Of Commerce marks the inaugural TEDx event organized by Team Convention, the oldest committee of the MBA programs at the department. This event showcases a diverse lineup of speakers from various fields, each sharing inspiring career stories and transformative ideas. Aligned with TED’s mission of spreading knowledge, TEDx Department of Commerce welcomes individuals from all backgrounds who seek a deeper understanding of the world, believing in the power of ideas to shape perspectives, influence lives, and drive meaningful change.

Valedictory Ceremony

It is the official farewell event for the outgoing batch organised by Team Convention in collaboration with Office Bearers.

The ceremony starts with an address from the Head of the department followed by wishes from course coordinators and faculty for the outgoing batches.

Based on the performance of students throughout their journey students are awarded three major awards:

Student of the Year
HR person of the year
Academic Excellence

In the end, goodies and yearbook framed by team convention along with best wishes are given to the outgoing batch, hoping that the presence of such would help during nostalgic and reminisce of the important part of their lives.
